The design

Built for 600 pounds.

The Atlantis is Merits' super heavy-duty bariatric power chair, rated for up to 600 lb. Four seat posts support the frame, and the extra-wide 24.5 in captain seat and extra-high back are sized for larger riders.

High-power 300W in-line motors handle ramps up to 10°, and two 75Ah AGM batteries give up to 32 miles per charge at speeds up to 5 mph. 12 in pneumatic drive tires and 9 in pneumatic casters smooth the ride. Flip-up, height-adjustable, detachable armrests and elevating leg rests are available as options.
