The design

Light frame, roomy seat.

The IQ-Carbon pairs a light frame, 43.5 lb without the battery, with a roomy 20.5 in seat and a 300 lb capacity. It folds to 31 × 13 × 24 in, and its 35.5 in turning radius makes it easy to maneuver in tight indoor spaces.

Brushless dual 250W motors drive the chair up to 4 mph, controlled from a detachable LCD joystick with horn, mute, and light buttons, or from the included Bluetooth remote. Electromagnetic brakes hold the chair when you stop, the armrests flip up for transfers, and a seatback pouch keeps small items close.

The 10Ah (240Wh) battery gives up to 11.2 miles and slides out with a quick-release switch for charging on or off the chair. It is approved by most major airlines and cruise lines, but check your carrier's battery rules before you travel.
