MediPlus Super Foam Ag, 4" x 4". MediPlus Super Foam Ag dressings consist of soft, thick and elastic polyurethane foam, sandwiched between an outermost layer of breathable polyurethane film and wound-contacting polyethylene net containing silver metal ions (Ag+). The edges of the outermost and the innermost polyurethane film are sealed together with a unique technique to prevent leakage when foam is saturated with exudates and upon compression. These three layers are laminated together to produce a soft, thick and elastic wound dressing. The outside film acts as a bacterial barrier, and the silver inhibits bacterial growth in the dressing, which helps to prevent colonization. Silver is added to the dressing to prevent bacterial growth within the dressing. This product contains 79 ppm of elemental silver bound within the wound dressing. MediPlus Super Foam Ag dressings provide physical separation between the wound and external environments to assist in preventing bacterial contamination of the wound.
